1. Hook overview
The hook is both the main equipment of the drilling traveling system and the link connecting the swivel and the traveling system, which can be used with traveling block, swivel and ring in the same level.

2. Function and use requirements of hook
2.1 Function of the hook: hang the swivel in drilling, and connect drill string through the swivel, so it bears the weight of the drill string; hang the rings and the elevators to lift or lower, and directly bear the weight of all the drill strings or casings; complete the weight lifting, equipment installation or derrick lifting and other drilling operations and the auxiliary work.
2.2 Use requirements of hook: it shall have sufficient strength and operational reliability; the hook body can rotate flexibly in order to screw on and off; the hook spring stroke shall be sufficient to compensate for the distance when the drill pipe is mounted and demounted; the locking device at the mouth of hook and side hook of the locking device shall be absolutely reliable; the hook shall have a function of buffering and vibration attenuation, in order to reduce the impact caused as demolition of the stand.

3. The structure of the hook
The hook is made up of rings, ring seats, cant hooks, barrels, hook body, spring and other components. The hook body and the barrel can be moved up and down along the cant hook. The barrel is filled with oil, and the oil chamber is divided into two parts by the spring retainer. There is an oil hole above the spring retainer, and the axial impact generated as up and down movement of the hook body and the rebound vibration caused as screwing off can be eliminated by the buffer gear, so that the tool joint thread can be free from damage. There is a positioning device on the upper end of the barrel, and the rings can be prevented from transposing as lifting elevators in virtue of the force of friction on the contact surface of the positioning plate and ring seat, in order to facilitate the work of the rigger.
